Oiling your wooden worktop is an essential part of worktop maintenance: It creates a water-resistant barrier and helps prevent bowing or splitting. We recommend Osmo TopOil as it has superior coverage compared to traditional Danish oils and the food-safe formula features a breathable, micro-porous finish that resists cracking, peeling, or flaking.

Osmo‚Äôs clear satin finish is infused with a subtle shimmer that is reminiscent of satin. The oil delicately accentuates the natural wood grain, enhancing its beauty without overpowering it.

Using this product:

Worktops should be dry, dust-free and sanded to a maximum 150 grit.
Apply two coats for optimal coverage.
Allow 8-10 hours between coats.
For exposed end grain, like sink cutouts, a third coat is suggested for added durability.
We recommend purchasing 500ml of Osmo oil per 3 linear metres of worktop.
Recoating is required once water is no longer beading on your worktops, generally, this will be between 1-3 years.

Please note: Freshly oiled wooden surfaces typically require 2-3 weeks to fully cure and properly harden before they can be used normally.
